Do I need a referral from my dentist to see an orthodontist in BC?
No. In British Columbia you can book directly with a certified specialist in orthodontics. Your dentist will be kept informed and will continue your regular check-ups and cleanings during treatment.
At what age should a child first see an orthodontist?
The Canadian and American Associations of Orthodontists recommend a first assessment by about age 7, when the first adult molars and front teeth have come in. Most children do not need treatment at that age; the visit identifies the few who benefit from early intervention and sets a recall plan for everyone else.
Is Invisalign or braces better?
Neither is universally better. Invisalign suits patients who will reliably wear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day and whose bite problems are within its range. Braces do not depend on compliance and remain the more predictable tool for some complex corrections. A specialist can tell you which applies to you.
How much do braces or Invisalign cost in Maple Ridge?
